Jane Eyre

I've put away the scary novel for a bit. I have a new novel that I have to read for school. I'm reading "Jane Eyre" (pronounced AIR). I generally don't go in for these Victorian ERa, "Girly" novels, but I've never read "Jane Eyre" and I should. It is considered a classic. I was looking for something different to read with my seniors, and this is what I picked. So far...well, I'm not hating it. It's about a girl and the things she goes through in her life...blah, blah, blah.

"Coldheart Canyon" II

Well...in "Coldheart CAnyon" things have gotten very interesting. First, I was right about the ghosts, although it isn't the house that's haunted, it's the whole canyon. In fact, the ghosts aren't allowed in the house. There is a room that is magical in the house, and that's why all the ghosts are there. They are forbidden to enter the house and consequently the magical room by the woman who lords over the whole canyon. She was a silent film star who, because of the effect of the room, hasn't aged. She is still beautiful and all men desire her. She uses her sexuality to manipulate peaople and keep them under her thumb. The protagonist, however, has escaped her grasp with the help of the anti-hero female protagonist (she's the president of his fan club and kind of chunky and plain looking). Now the silent film star is going to leave the mansion and try to bring the protagonist back under her power. I'm guessing that when she leaves the canyon she will start to age...scary stuff.

Coldheart Canyon

I'm reading this scary novel by Clive Barker. Actually, I'm about 100 pages in and nothing much has happened so far. The protagonist, whose name is the same as a boyhood friend of mine, Todd Pickett, had plastic surgery that went horribly wrong. His agant is trying to keep him away from the public because he's a big movie star and the surgery has messed up his face. They think that he'll heal, but they hide him away in this old mansion up in the Hollywood Hills. My guess...the place is going to be haunted. I've read two or three other novels by Barker, and his novels are usually pretty scary.
